Whitepaper v0.2

PaliMesh: verifiable service for autonomous agents

The whitepaper specifies a BFT chain whose reward mechanism pays for verified service rather than hash power or idle stake. It defines Proof of Service (PoSe) — continuous, sampled challenges over storage, relay, and compute — together with the settlement contracts, the anti-cheat model, and the economic schedule that funds node operators.

Proof of Service

PoSe replaces work-wasting puzzles with useful work: challengers sample a node's declared service, witnesses attest the result under an EIP-712 signature scheme, and a settlement contract aggregates witness quorums per epoch. Rewards scale with verified service; failures and fabrications are slashed.

Economic model

Emissions flow into per-service reward buckets (storage, relay, compute) with a yearly decay schedule. Operators post a security deposit that scales their reward ceiling; misbehavior draws down the deposit before it touches earned rewards. No service, no reward — idle capital earns nothing.

Anti-cheat model

The threat model covers four families: fabricated service, replayed attestations, witness collusion, and sybil amplification. Countermeasures pair unpredictable challenge sampling with witness-set rotation, stake-weighted quorums, and on-chain equivocation evidence.

Non-goals

PaliMesh does not compete on raw TPS, does not host anonymous meme-asset markets, and does not attempt general-purpose data availability for other chains. The chain optimizes for one thing: making agent-relevant service and state verifiable at low cost.
